FIREFIGHTERS leapt into action on Saturday after a road crash right outside their station.
Officers administered emergency first aid to a biker in his 20s after a car and a bike collided in Hilperton Road, Trowbridge.
The crash happened just after 5.30pm when a Fiat Bravo car was in collision with a Yamaha R6 motorbike.
The air ambulance was called and landed at the Trowbridge Rugby Club ground in Green Lane.
The motorcyclist, from Trowbridge, was airlifted to the Royal United Hospital in Bath with suspected neck and back injuries.
The woman car driver, from Hilperton, was taken to the hospital by road, with suspected neck injuries.
It is not believed either was badly injured and they are expected to make a full recovery, but extensive damage was caused to both the car and the motorbike.
One side of the road was closed for a short time and there was a minor petrol spill but traffic was able to keep moving.
