Asa FreemanFOUR teenagers have denied taking part in an assault that left a young man in a coma.

Lee Frisby, Paolo Rossi, Joel Bailey and Shane Flexon, will face a crown court trial after pleading not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm to 32-year-old Asa Freeman.

At Swindon Crown Court on Monday Rossi and Flexon also denied a charge of causing actual bodily harm to Mr Freeman's friend, Jason Delaney.

Mr Freeman was on a night out in Trowbridge town centre with Mr Delaney on January 8 when it is alleged he was punched to the ground, hitting his head on the pavement in Silver Street.

He was in a coma for three months and is now being treated at the Royal Mineral Hospital in Bath.

All four youths charged in connection with the incident were released on conditional bail.

They were ordered to observe a night-time curfew, to stay away from licensed premises, not to contact each other and to report to the police three times a week.

Bailey, 18, of Shrewton Close, Trowbridge, was bailed to live with his parents in the town.

Flexon, 18, of College Road, was ordered to stay out of Trowbridge town centre.

Frisby, 19, of Regents Place was bailed to live in South Wales during the week and Honiton at weekends.

Rossi, 19, of Newtown was bailed to an address in Radstock, not to return to Trowbridge.

The case was adjourned until May 20.
