SHRIVENHAM boss Alan Dyton has questioned his players' commitment even though they are on the verge of lifting the Hellenic One West title.

Victory at lowly Adderbury tomorrow will seal the crown and Dyton is looking for a big improvement after a couple of leggy performances.

He said: "We learned a harsh lesson by losing to Easington last weekend and the first period against Purton in midweek we suffered the same problem.

"Things do not happen without commitment and we were sadly lacking at times in that department.

"Adderbury may be down the bottom of the league table, but there last six results have been tight against sides from the top half of the table.

"So I will be reminding our players that too much good work has been put in to throw it away through lack of effort.

"We have good ability in the side but it means nothing without hard work and if we produce that, along with maintaining our discipline we will end up as champions."

Dyton sacrificed a place in the Supplementary Cup last night, fielding a second string team in the 2-0 semi-final second leg loss against Ardley.

That has given Shrivvy's walking wounded a chance to recover, with Andy Brien's troublesome ankle making him the only injury doubt, while Jon Peters and Tate Hulbert are suspended for the finale.

Purton entertain Malmesbury in a last-day derby, the Vics needing to win to escape the bottom two and any threat of the drop into county football.

But Purton will want to end a transitional season with a win in front of the Red House faithful. Elsewhere, Cirencester United, who beat Cheltenham Saracens 1-0 last night, have little to play for but pride at Hook Norton.
