Wootton Bassett host Highworth in a crucial end-of-season derby two teams with very different agendas.

Bassett, 1-0 losers at Carterton last night, are resigned to finishing in the drop zone and only a league reshuffle can save them from the plunge.

Highworth, meanwhile received a massive boost last night when Didcot were beaten 1-0 by Abingdon.

John Fisher's men now know that a win against Bassett will make Didcot's result at Fairford irrelevant and secure them theHellenic Premier Division title.

Bassett boss Chris Jones expects his side to go down fighting, saying: "The pressure is off us now, what will be, will be.

"One thing I will not accept is we lay down and die. We know Highworth's situation and it will be a battle. We will be trying our absolute best to get something out of this game."

Highworth chief John Fisher knows Bassett could wreck his championship dream.

"All we can do is go out there and win," he said.

"Bassett look like they're already relegated but the last thing they will want is us winning the title at their place. If they can stop us winning the league that might compensate a little bit for them going down."

Steve Richardson (back) and Kevin Coles (ankle) are struggling while Jon Reeves and Jamie Mills are banned.

Fairford will do their best to help bitter rivals Highworth by beating Didcot.

Fisher has questioned whether the Cinder Lane outfit will show the same fight that accounted for his men last week.

But Fairford assistant Kev Moloney assures everyone at the Elms that they will be looking to beat the FA Vase finalists.

"We've got to try and go out there and win every game," he said. "Brackley won the title at our place last season and hearing a couple of hundred of their fans singing with half an hour to go wasn't any fun."
