RUGBY chiefs are set to add a third tier to the local league structure for the 2005-06 season.
Second and third teams from Chippenham and Devizes, plus second strings from Wootton Bassett, Swindon College Old Boys, Corsham and Bradford on Avon could be incorporated into the new structure.
The Dorset and Wilts RFU have released a provisional model for the league pyramid, subject to approval by the South West regional body next month and the final promotion/relegation outlook this season.
It would see two Dorset and Wilts Three divisions North and South added, taking the number of teams playing league rugby from the two counties to nearly 60.
Second teams from Swindon College, Corsham and Bradford on Avon would join those of Minety, Supermarine in the North (Wiltshire) group, alongside Bassett and Trowbridge's third team and Sutton Benger's Wellesley Arms.
Chippenham and Wootton Bassett's second teams would join Dorset and Wilts One, with the third team a level lower in Two North, although both clubs have yet to confirm if their teams will take part.
Dorset and Wilts RFU competitions sub-committee chairman Clive Drake said: "Much will depend on promotion, relegation and entries yet to be confirmed. It will have to be formally recommended by the competitions committee, approved by the council and then put forward to the south west competitions committee for approval in May.''
