RESIDENTS in Swindon are being encouraged to donate their used printer and toner cartridges to an environmental campaign.
Cartridge World, which has a store in Faringdon Road, is aiming to plant 6,000 trees in return for receiving the used goods. Thousands of trees have already been planted across the country in the last six months thanks to the environmentally-conscious folk of Swindon.
David Parkinson, of Cartridge World, said: "I'd like to thank everybody in Swindon for backing our initiative and we would urge them to continue to recycle their empty cartridges so we can not only save even more from landfill but help the environment even further by hitting out target of planting 6,000 trees."
Customers to the Swindon store will receive a stamp each time they go and when they have eight stamps for inkjet cartridges and six for toner a tree will be planted.
