WITH reference to Shirley Mathias's article in Saturday's Evening Advertiser, I would like to think Derryck Evans is being deliberately controversial to encourage healthy debate about the Christian faith.
If he is not being deliberately controversial I can only refer him to a book I am sure he came across during his ministry training, the Holy Bible, where the virgin birth, physical resurrection of Christ, the Garden of Eden and Jesus's mission to save are there in black and white.
When all is said and done Christianity is not an argument or debate, it is a matter of faith.
You either believe it or you don't but I would encourage everyone to look at the facts as set out in the Holy Bible and give it intelligent thought before making a decision.
Thousands have left the church but the reason, I fear, is that those in positions of leadership and authority question the Biblical foundations upon which the Christian faith stands, these being the virgin birth of the Son of God and the resurrection of Christ.
