YOUNGSTERS in the Forty Acres and Eastleigh Road area are invited to a fun day. The day is being held on Tuesday August 23 at the new play area in Owen Close, off Eastleigh Road, from 3pm to 7pm.
It is open for young people aged seven and over and is free.
The organisers are Maggie Giddings from Youth Action Wiltshire and resident Carisa Whittall.
Activities will include football, archery, athletics, judo and a climbing wall and are being provided by the Army Cadet Force, Youth Action Wiltshire, Wessex and Bath Athletic Club, Devizes Aikido and Judo Club and Kennet District Council.
The event is being sponsored by Sarsen Housing Association.
Mrs Whittall said: "The park has been open just over a year and this will help to get kids in there to use it.
"There's been a great response from the community and it will also benefit the organisations who are coming along to provide the activities as they want to try and get more youngsters involved."
Mrs Whittall hopes the event will lead to a group of parents being formed to organise other projects for youngsters in the area.
