South African players at Bath Rugby Club have been enlisted in the search for missing Chippenham man and Corsham rugby player Donavan van Lill.

South African Mr Van Lill, 29, of Blackthorn Mews, has not been seen for two weeks after he disappeared form his home on Wednesday, March 3.

His friends are growing more and more concerned for his safety each day, and Melodie Snyman has now managed to get players from the Bath Rugby team involved in the search.

She said: "I will be meeting the South African players tomorrow and we hope having them on board will raise more awareness.

"I don't know how the whole thing will work, but we are going to try and get T-shirts or something printed."

More than 12,000 people have now joined the Facebook group Please Help Find Donavan Van Lill, and a psychic has even carried out a reading to try and discover the whereabouts of the Olympiad gym instructor.

Miss Snyman said: "The psychic offered a reading and she felt that Don is still alive.

"She was describing what she can see where he is and people were thinking he was in an area near Draycot Cerne.

"I don't know what to think, but a police officer said who are we to decided if what she can see is right."

Friends of the Corsham rugby player are also hoping to organise a fundraising event to help Mr Van Lill's mother fly over from South Africa.

Mr van Lill was last seen at around 8.30am on Wednesday, March 3. He left his wallet, passport and driving license at home, and his laptop was still logged in to his Facebook page.

He is described as white, he has a stocky build, short dark hair and has a large oriental dragon tattoo on his abdomen. It is believed that he may be wearing or have in his possession a distinctive dark coloured duffle coat, a fleece and white Adidas trainers.
