Plans for a 248-berth marina at Lower Foxhangers Farm near Rowde have been recommended for approval.
The proposed marina would be for tourist boats using the Kennet and Avon Canal.
It would be built on 13 acres of agricultural land next to the existing small marina, campsite and self catering homes run by Colin and Cynthia Fletcher, which will continue to operate.
Wiltshire Council’s highways department has asked for a new access to be provided to the site from the A361 as the existing junction has poor visibility.
The planning application has the support of both British Waterways and the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust.
It will be discussed tonight at 6pm by Wiltshire Council’s Eastern area planning committee meeting at Browfort, Devizes.
MHJ Ltd of Guildford, which has submitted the plans, is a holding company for Land and Water Estates, also based in Guildford.
