RAIN failed to dampen the mood of hundreds of people who packed in Corsham town centre to see the annual Christmas light switch on.
Families took part in a count down to the light switch on that took place at 6pm yesterday evening outside of the town hall.
Despite the rain huge crowds milled around the High Street and looking at the Christmas Bazaar.
There was also a contortionist to add entertainment to the evening and the Christmas Tree Festival at St Bartholomew's Church held its open evening alongside the light switch on event.
Sarah and David Fairfield, of Woodborough Road had taken their three-year-old daughter, Lauren, along for the first time.
Mrs Fairfield said: "I think it has been a lovely evening and its nice to see so many people here even though it is raining. There is such a lovely atmosphere."
