Youngsters in Chippenham could have a long wait before a new BMX park is finally built in the town.
At the first meeting of the Chippenham Area Board on Monday, Chippenham town council leader Andrew Noblet vowed to do everything in his power to push the plans along, but said until the Football Foundation have finalised plans to build a floodlit pitch at the park, no progress could be made.
He said: "It is a very complex issue, which I think is due to the access at the site. I am as frustrated about this as everyone else is. This is key to the progress of Stanely Park and until this is achieved nothing else can move forward.
"I will try and push it along as hard as I can, I will try again and again and again but I have tried very hard so far to get it moving."
Chairman of the Chippenham Area Board Councillor Desna Allen added: "I am aware that there is a lot to consider but these people will be grown up and have children of their own before anything happens.”
The plans were given the go-ahead at a Chippenam town council meeting in January after coun Noblet put forward a motion earmarking Stanley Park as the most suitable location.
