The jury in the Matthew Baggott murder trial has found Daniel de Costa guilty of murder after deliberating for less then an hour.
The jury reconvened after sending a note to His Honour Judge Guy Boney QC and were unanimous in their verdict at Winchester Crown Court.
Despite many hours of expert testimony they decided that there had been no proof that de Costa, 31, of Kingsbury Square, Melksham, suffered from an abnormality of mind substantial enough to make him not responsible for his actions in stabbing Matthew Baggott to death on September 6 2007.
The case was adjourned for sentence until Wednesday morning and the jury was discharged.
