BOYS at Downland Special School have forged links with the Wyvern Club in Devizes through a building project.
Year 10 pupils were involved with refurbishing the club’s snooker room by painting and decorating it.
As a result the private members’ club, in Church Walk, has named the snooker room after the school and has offered the school the use of its recreational activities and meeting rooms.
The pupils are now working at Devizes Pre-School where they are laying a path.
Martin Bonnici, manager at the Wyvern Club, said: “The benefits to both the lads of Downland School and the club have been immense. The club now has a fully refurbished snooker room, TV room and front entrance hall and the lads have learnt a number of new skills that will assist them in employment after they finish their education.”
