I am delighted to report that in common with many other areas, the Poppy Appeal for the Malmesbury district has exceeded all previous totals. All those who gave their time and money will be pleased to know the final amount will exceed £8,160.
The extraordinary generosity of the public underlines their support of our Armed Forces currently serving our country under very difficult conditions.
The demands for help from the British Legion will still outstrip the money raised by the Poppy Appeal, and just as Remembrance is not just a “one day a year event”, neither is the fundraising to finance the essential welfare work of the legion.
