A pensioner has denied causing the deaths of three Vespa riders on a Wiltshire A-road.
Hugh Campion, 71, has pleaded not guilty to a total of eight charges relating to a collision on the A36 at Knook, Wiltshire, on May 31, 2025.
The collision involved a Toyota Prius driven by Campion on the A36, which allegedly collided with three Vespas that were travelling in the opposite direction as part of a group ride to the Normandy beaches in France.
Robert Best, 62, died at the scene, while Marie Jones, 64, and Timothy Davies, 62, later died in hospital.
Campion, from Upton Scudamore in Wiltshire, has pled not guilty to three charges of causing death by dangerous driving at a hearing at Salisbury Crown Court today, September 16.
He has also denied three alternative charges of causing death by careless driving and to causing serious injury to Gary Jones by dangerous driving and the alternative of causing injury by careless driving.
Judge Rufus Taylor told Campion he would face a trial lasting up to 10 days, which was due to begin on June 1 next year.
A pre-trial review will take place on April 30.
Campion has been released on unconditional bail.
