Red Arrows picture at RAF Fairford wins photography award

A DRAMATIC shot of the Red Arrows in flight has secured a top photography award.

Photographer Paul Nicholls captured the image at the Royal International Air Tattoo at RIAT RAF Fairford in 2025, earning him the Cultural Category title at the 2026 Event Photography Awards.

The competition received over 2,300 images from photographers in over 20 countries.

Mr Nicholls, from Hardwicke in Gloucestershire said: "I am very happy to have won this category.

"The quality of photography was amazing and congrats to all the winners."

This win marks his fourth success at the Event Photography Awards, adding to titles in 2020, 2022, and 2024.

His Red Arrows image was also used by the Daily Telegraph.

The photograph was taken at RIAT 2025, held at RAF Fairford in Gloucestershire from July 18 to 20.
