A horse rider has been left seriously injured after being thrown to the ground when a van driver spooked her horse.
The incident, which took place on Friday, July 31, saw a woman in her 30s riding her horse along Lower Woodrow Road in Melksham.
Between 9.20am and 9.40am, a van driver travelling at speed is understood to have spooked the horse, causing the rider to be thrown off.
Her injuries have been described by police as "serious", and officers are now looking for anyone who witnessed this incident or could have dashcam footage to get in touch.
The van has been described as white with brown markings on the side.

"We’d like to remind drivers of the importance of passing horses 'wide and slow', keeping at least two metres distance and reducing speed to a maximum of 10mph," said a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or may have captured dash cam of the van.
"It’s described as white with brown markings on the side – we unfortunately don’t have a make, model or number plate."
