A man from Swindon has died after a serious crash on a Wiltshire road.
Emergency services closed the B4040 between Charlton and Minety at around 7.05pm on Friday, August 7, after an Audi Rs3 crashed into a tree.
The car was travelling northeast from the direction of Charlton towards Minety when it left the carriageway and no other vehicles were involved, said police.
The driver of the Audi, a man in his 40s from Swindon, died at the scene.
His passenger, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Police closed the road for some time on Friday night while specialist collision investigators carried out enquiries at the scene.
An investigation remains ongoing and any witnesses have been urged to come forward.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Any witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have dash cam footage, is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 298 of August 7.
“Alternatively, email SCIT@wiltshire.police.uk.”
Firefighters were also called to the incident as part of a significant emergency response.
At the time, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service warned drivers to avoid the area.
