An award-winning coming-of-age drama is set to be screened in Devizes.
Devizes Film Club will be showing DJ Ahmet at the Wharf Theatre on August 27 at 7.30pm.
The film, written and directed by Georgi M. Unkovski, has won the World Cinema Dramatic Audience Award at the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, as well as a Special Jury Award for Creative Vision.
Set in a remote rural village in North Macedonia, the film follows 15-year-old Ahmet, a shepherd with a dream of becoming a DJ.
Torn between his father's expectations, the traditions of his conservative community, and the excitement of first love, Ahmet finds freedom and self-expression through electronic dance music.
Critics have praised the film's charm, emotional warmth, and universal appeal, describing it as both a crowd-pleaser and an uplifting portrait of youth, music, and hope.
A spokesperson for Devizes Film Club said: "DJ Ahmet is one of those rare films that leaves audiences smiling.
"It is funny, moving, and full of heart.
"Whether you're a film enthusiast, a music lover, or simply looking for an enjoyable night out, this is a film not to be missed."
Tickets are £10 including the booking fee and can be purchased from www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-wharf-theatre.
