A man who admitted "numerous" counts of rape and sexual offences, including against a child, has been jailed for nearly two decades.
Wesley Brito, 47, appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Wednesday, July 29 for sentencing after pleading guilty to multiple sexual assaults of a child under 13, five counts of sexual activity with a child, rape and attempted rape of a child, sexual assault by penetration and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.
He also pleaded guilty to the rape of a woman now aged in her 40s.
The offences took place over a number of years and involved a woman and a child who were both known to Brito.
The incidents were first brought to Wiltshire Police’s attention in February 2025 after the adult victim disclosed the abuse to a third party.
In June 2025, the adult victim reported the offences to officers herself, and in the following months the young victim told officers about Brito’s offences against her.
Brito, formerly of the Redhouse area of Swindon, was subsequently charged with numerous sexual offences, leading to yesterday’s sentencing.

Brito, a Brazilian national, was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment, and is also subject to an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and restraining order and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register.
