Two delivery drivers have been hit with thousands in fines after admitting to fly-tipping in Wiltshire.
Wiltshire Council has said the incident happened in Christian Malford, near Chippenham.
It was identified in September 2025 by a Wiltshire Council Environmental Enforcement Officer while travelling to another reported case and they gathered evidence linking it to a recent furniture delivery made to the area.
The delivery had been undertaken by a distribution company based in the north of England, whose service includes unpacking and assembling furniture, as well as removing packaging.
After council officers made contact with the company, the drivers responsible were identified.
The council said the company fully cooperated with the investigation and provided the necessary information to assist officers.
Both delivery drivers were later interviewed under caution, where they admitted dumping the waste, stating there was not enough space in their vehicle to store the additional packaging for their next delivery.
As a result, two Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) of £1,000 each were issued.
Both fixed penalties have since been paid in full. As fixed penalty notices are not court convictions, the delivery drivers cannot be named.

The company has since confirmed that both drivers received written warnings, and that its directors have issued a reminder to all staff that fly-tipping is not permitted.
Cllr Martin Smith, cabinet member for Highways, said: "Even if a vehicle is 'too full', that is no excuse for fly-tipping.
“Businesses and their employees have a legal duty to dispose of waste responsibly, and dumping it instead is a deliberate act that harms our environment and local communities.
"Our officers are highly skilled at tracing evidence, and we will not hesitate to take action where offences are identified.
“While this investigation took several months to complete, it highlights our determination to see cases through and hold individuals to account.
"I'd like to thank the company involved for their cooperation once the matter came to light, but this should serve as a clear warning - if you fly-tip in Wiltshire, you can expect to face significant financial penalties.
“There is no justification, and it simply isn't worth the risk."
