A Wiltshire pub has added a new name to its drinks menu – and it comes with a celebrity twist.

The Milk Churn, part of the Hall & Woodhouse pub group, is now serving James Gin, a craft gin created by TV presenter and Top Gear legend James May.

It follows a new partnership that marks the first national pub listing for the gin brand, which is now available across all 45 Hall & Woodhouse managed pubs in the south.

James May said: "The best place to drink James Gin is obviously my pub in Swallowcliffe.

"However, it’s quite small so not everyone can fit in.

"So, I’m delighted that James Gin is now also available in Hall & Woodhouse’s pubs, as our first national pub listing."

Founded in 2021, James Gin has already picked up more than a dozen awards, including three World Gin Awards.

May launched the brand in collaboration with Wiltshire-based Downton Distillery, after being advised that home distillation could land him in legal trouble.

Anthony Woodhouse, chairman of Hall & Woodhouse, said: "We’re hugely excited to be working with James May to bring his gin to the millions of guests who visit our pubs each year.

"James is a big supporter of the pub industry and shares our belief that pubs still play an incredibly important role in the community.

"It’s an absolute joy to partner with such a champion for the local pub and we’re proud to be sharing his creation with our guests."

James Gin is now available at The Milk Churn and other Hall & Woodhouse pubs across the region.
