A virtual public consultation on a scheme to build a new Aldi store off the A361 London Road in Devizes has ended.
All the feedback received during the consultation phase of the project is currently under review ahead of a planning application being submitted to Wiltshire Council.
Once this application has been lodged, residents and other stakeholders will have a chance to examine the formal plans and submit any feedback to the council before a decision is made.
Aldi says the project would be a £10 million investment in Devizes that would create 40 new jobs and improve the retail choice on offer for shoppers in the town.
The new store would be located on land currently used as a motorcycle training facility.
The scheme would also include a drive-through coffee shop whose operator has not been confirmed at this stage.
Matthias Daly, Aldi real estate director, said: “We are proud to be proposing a new Aldi store in Devizes.
"We encourage residents to participate in our virtual consultation to learn more about the scheme and share their views.
“This represents a major investment in Devizes, bringing new jobs and better access to fresh, healthy affordable food.”
Matthew Anderson, development director at PRZM Real Estate, a specialist property advisory and development business, said the proposal had been over a year in the making.

“Further exciting news will be shared in due course about the drive-through coffee shop with EV charging hub.”
One of the main concerns raised by residents during the initial consultation phase was the impact of the development on London Road traffic.
PRZM Real Estate and Aldi say they are undertaking a transport assessment to address these concerns, and this will be included in the planning documents.
