A care home has opened in Wiltshire, offering a new home to 70 new tenants.
On Friday, January 9, Castle Lodge Care Home in Mere celebrated the occasion with a special grand opening event.
It was attended by residents, staff, local community groups and businesses, with local councillor George Jeans also in attendance.
The official opening was marked with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by Home Manager Wendy Perkins, who proudly declared the care home open alongside Co-chief Al-Karim Kachra and chairman Abdul Kachra, celebrating an important milestone for the home and the local community.
Located in the heart of Mere, Castle Lodge Care Home is a modern, purpose-built care home providing Residential, Dementia and Respite Care. The home can accommodate 70 residents, with the company saying it was designed to deliver person-centred care in a warm, welcoming environment that supports independence, dignity and wellbeing.

Guests attending the grand opening enjoyed guided tours of the care home, meeting the team and sampling freshly prepared food while exploring the home’s facilities.
These include the Coffee Club Café, Elegance Hair Salon, The Castle Arms on-site pub, Spacious En-suite Bedrooms, Communal Dining and Lounges along with an Entertainment Suite and Spa Bathrooms, all designed, the company says, to enrich residents’ everyday life and encourage social connection.
