Plans for double yellow lines and other parking restrictions on roads across a Wiltshire town are progressing.
As previously reported, Wiltshire Council is preparing to carry out another review of waiting restrictions in Devizes which could lead to changes on selected streets.
At a meeting on Tuesday, October 7, Devizes Town Council’s planning and development committee discussed which roads to put forward for inclusion in this review.
Ward councillors were asked to raise any ongoing issues on streets in their neighbourhoods and these were combined with existing requests the town council had agreed to put forward.
These requests include double yellow lines on the turning circle in Winchcombe Avenue, waiting restrictions on Folly Road by the Wadworth brewery, restrictions on Queens Road, double yellow lines on the Westview Crescent and Hillworth Road junction, extended parking restrictions in Mayenne Place, and changes on Brickley Lane and Longcroft Avenue.
Cllr Iain Wallis was among those to put forward requests for roads to be included in the review, and after the meeting informed residents that these requests will be submitted to Wiltshire Council.

Other councillors were also given an opportunity to put forward other roads that could be included in the project.
Wiltshire Council will now look into what new parking restrictions could be implemented in Devizes and will have to hold a public consultation on any new proposals.
The town council will also need to commit to fund 25 per cent of this review, expected to be in the region of £1,675.
Changes to parking controls are often considered in large batches each year because of the high cost of carrying out the lengthy process for multiple roads.
Parking restrictions were approved on a large number of roads across the town at the end of 2024, following a similar review last year.

These sites included the junction of Avon Road and Salisbury Street, Bath Road, the junction of Byron Road, Green Lane, Pans Lane, and Wick Lane, Combe Walk, Folly Road, White Horse Way, Eastleigh Road, Pines Road, Waylands, Hopton Road, Northgate Street, Roseland Avenue, Sheep Street, Southbroom Road, and Victoria Road.
The proposals were approved by then cabinet member for highways Cllr Nick Holder in a bid to tackle parking congestion which had sparked fears over poor visibility and safety.
This decision was made after a consultation which yielded just six objections over a month.
