The prominent Assize Court, on Northgate Street in Devizes, has been empty since the 1980s and has fallen into a derelict state.
Long-standing plans to transform the building into a new home for the Wiltshire Museum are currently progressing, following the submission of a planning application in December.
These plans have given residents a look inside the historic building and show the scale of the work necessary to restore it.
The Devizes Assize Court Trust has already completed emergency repairs to prevent further deterioration before the plans can progress.

“Although much of the exterior survives, its roofs are in poor condition, its leadwork stripped, its masonry is eroding and what remains of its joinery is decaying.
“It remains however an imposing building. Internally, all the historic courtroom furniture has been lost, and its interior has been very badly damaged by rainwater penetration.
“Its timber floors have rotted or been removed, its decorative plaster work is collapsing, its windows have been broken and most of its joinery has been vandalised or removed.”
Devizes Town Councillors will have a chance to have their say on the proposal during a special planning meeting on Tuesday, February 4.
