A project to repair the leaking roof on a prominent town centre building is “progressing beautifully”.
Devizes Town Council has told residents its scheme to restore the town hall’s roof is making good progress after starting last October.
Work at the site is due to continue until March 10, according to the council’s roadworks map, during which time St Johns Street is expected to remain closed to traffic.
The major project aims to preserve one of Devizes’ “architectural hidden gems” by fixing issues with the roof which have led to water entering the building.

This is expected to cost around £450,000 and will take 20 weeks to complete.
Scaffolding has been erected at the Grade II listed building while this work takes place and Devizes Town Council has given a glimpse inside.
A spokesperson for the town council said: “We’re thrilled to share that the roof restoration project is progressing beautifully.
“As you can see in the photo, the team is hard at work under the protective scaffolding, ensuring the structure is weather-tight and built to last.
“Thank you for your continued support and patience as we make these essential improvements to preserve this important part of our community.”
