A Wiltshire car wash was fined £20,000 for employing workers illegally.
Chippenham Car Wash Ltd, which trades as Chippenham Car Wash on London Road, was slapped with the large fine between April and June this year by Immigration Enforcement.
The civil penalty, totalling £20,000 was handed out to the employer for its involvement in illegal working, a quarterly report has revealed.
When visited by the Gazette and Herald, bosses at the firm did not wish to comment on the penalty.
The car washing firm was one of dozens of businesses around the UK that were fined for illegal working during the second quarter of 2024.

Chippenham Car Wash Ltd is based in the town and was first incorporated in 2022, according to Companies House.
It offers a range of car washing services from its forecourt on London Road.
Figures by the Home Office at the start of the month revealed that the government has been cracking down on illegal working with arrests for this offence rising 25 per cent since this summer’s election.
Home Office Immigration Enforcement teams say they have been “intensifying” operational activity across the UK.
