Customers are disappointed at the unexpected “closure” of a town centre tapas restaurant, with the future of the business uncertain.
La Taperia restaurant and bar, based at the old Bear Hotel in Chippenham Market Place, did not open as scheduled on the weekend of Saturday, September 7.
The venue appears to have been closed since then, remaining empty and shut up during times when it was due to be open to customers.
While La Taperia has not made any announcement on the future of the restaurant, either at the premises or online, its website has now been deactivated and there has been no further activity on its Facebook page.
The business, which opened in late 2022, did not respond to requests for comment on its future.

This has sparked fears amongst customers that it may have closed its doors for the final time.
Jessica Mounty said: “They’re closed for good now... they cut off bookings late last week.”
Many were disappointed at the potential loss of the venue.
Kathryn Tate said: “No I love that place, obviously not often enough.”
Katie-Jayne Musgrove added: “Oh no. We used to go there often. Very sad to hear this.”
Plans have been approved to convert the upper floors of The Bear into flats, but this did not include the restaurant, which will be retained.
