Multiple GP surgeries in Wiltshire and the south west have been hit by disruption after power outages.
The Lodge Surgery in Pewsham, Chippenham, confirmed that it had been affected by power outages to its systems during Monday, August 12, but is now back up and running.
Earlier in the day, issues with the internet had prevented staff from making or receiving calls.
The surgery posted on Facebook to say these outages have been widespread in the south west region and have reportedly affected multiple GP facilities.
It said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by our systems going down this afternoon following a power outage affecting the south west region.
“We are now back online and taking calls. Please bear with us while we try and catch up.”
During the outages, patients who were unable to get a hold of their GP due to the issues were advised to call 111.
At the time, the surgery wrote: “We are currently experiencing issues with our internet and are unable to make or receive calls.
“It seems to be an area-wide issue affecting multiple surgeries.
“We apologise for the inconvenience and are working on resolving the problem as soon as possible.
“Please call 111 for help until further notice.”
