A Wiltshire man has been charged after a car was allegedly driven at a police officer.

Khyron Smart-Mullin, of Clare Avenue in Trowbridge, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday, June 8, charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, and causing actual bodily harm.

The 20-year-old was also charged with driving without a licence or insurance.

Smart-Mullin has since been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Crown Court on July 12.

Police say a total of five arrests have been made following the incident, which reportedly took place on Saturday, June 1, in Conscience Lane, near Devizes.

A spokesperson for the force added: “A man from Trowbridge has been charged in connection with an incident in which a car is believed to have been deliberately driven at a Wiltshire Police officer.

“Khyron Smart-Mullin, 20, of Clare Avenue, appeared at Swindon Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with attempted GBH with intent, ABH, driving without a licence and without insurance.

“He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Swindon Crown Court on July 12.”
