Work is ongoing at a former Chinese takeaway that will “soon” become a Thai cafe.

Last month WaraThai, a restaurant operating on Granville Road in Melksham, announced it would be opening a separate venue in Chippenham.

The new eatery will be a Thai cafe, offering something “different” to the existing branch, and will replace the closed Lucky Eat Chinese Takeaway at The Bridge.

Signs at the premises and Facebook posts advertised that the cafe will be serving customers “soon” with a grand opening expected on Thursday, May 23.

A refurbishment to the inside of the building was ongoing at the time of writing while a planning application to alter the shop signage was awaiting determination.
