A vehicle has been seized by police after it was found abandoned weeks after it was stolen in Southampton.
Officers were on patrol in the Shamblehurst Lane South area of Hedge End when they were alerted to an abandoned vehicle by a member of the public.
The vehicle was displaying incorrect number plates and after checks were carried out, it was identified as stolen.
The blue car had been taken from the Redbridge area of Southampton at the start of April.
Officers seized the car.

A spokesperson said: "On Sunday 28th April 2024 PC GOWANS and PC STONELEY from Hedge End North Neighbourhood Policing team were on patrol in the Shamblehurst Lane South area of Hedge End when they were alerted to a vehicle that looked to be abandoned.
"The vehicle was displaying incorrect number plates.
"Further checks showed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Redbridge area in Southampton at the start of the month. The vehicle was seized and recovered by police."
