Swindon Town striker Simon Cox believes his lethal strike partnership with Billy Paynter will get even better -as soon as they get up to speed with Anthony McNamee.
The pair both took their goals tally to two in two games in Town's thrilling 3-2 Carling Cup defeat to Championship big-spenders QPR on Tuesday night.
And Cox, 21, says their impressive combination will prove even more deadly when they learn to keep up with speedy winger McNamee.
He said: " It's pleasing for me and Billy to be scoring goals.
"We have a good understanding because we have played together a lot as we both joined at the same time.
"The trouble is, Ant is a bit quick for us at the moment -as soon as the ball gets out to him he has a couple of touches and the ball is in the box. He is putting ball on a plate for us and it is up to us to finish them.
"I'm sure once we get a better understanding then we will be scoring even more goals."
The confident Cox has set himself a lofty goals target for the season.
He said: " My first aim is to get ten goals and go on from there. I want to get 25 goals this season and also get the golden boot for the division."
Cox is looking forward to this weekend's league fixture against local rivals Cheltenham.
He said: "Derbies are always a good thing because there is a bit of local pride at stake.
"We will go in to the game full of confidence."
n WINGER Mark Marshall yesterday joined Swindon Town on a two-year deal from non-league Eastleigh, after an undisclosed fee was agreed between the clubs.
Town boss Maurice Malpas moved for the right midfielder after his bid to sign Bristol City winger Kevin Betsy came to nothing.
