A man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm following an incident in Southwick on Wednesday night (March 21).
Officers were called to Fleur De Lys Drive around 7pm following reports that a firearm had been seen during an argument.
A man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and remains in police custody for questioning.
Sgt Gemma Rutter said: "This was a concerning incident, but we believe it was an isolated incident involving people who are known to each other.
"We are carrying extra patrols to provide the community with some reassurance and I would urge anyone who has concerns to speak to us.
“You can speak to an officer on patrol or call us through the usual channels."
