Drivers are likely to face delays at a key junction on one of the main A-roads into a Wiltshire town during roadworks.
Wiltshire Council has confirmed that temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction of the A4 Bath Road with Rowden Hill and Brunel Court, near The Rowden Arms in Chippenham.
The lights will operate for several hours from 9.30am until 2.30pm on Tuesday, March 26.
These roadworks will allow the council to carry out streetlighting works including the replacement of some infrastructure.
The council warned that delays are “likely” as a result of the scheme, at a junction which has already faced increased traffic this year.
Long queues have regularly formed at both the road’s junction with the B4643 towards Patterdown and Chequers Roundabout since the closure of the B-roads between Patterdown and Showell.
Other works have also been ongoing on the A4 at Chippenham, although these are not likely to cause disruption, according to the council.
This has included multi-way signals near the Pheasant Roundabout, which were due to be in operation from March 12, and ongoing footpath and drain investigation works at the roundabout itself.
