WILTSHIRE Police are still guarding the site on Ashton Common near Trowbridge where a man’s body was found on Thursday (March 7).

On Monday, the gates to the farm building on Ashton Road were locked but there were still police officers at both front and rear to prevent anyone entering the scene.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: "We are still present at the site, a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out to establish the likely cause of death, we have yet to identify the deceased."

Although forensic investigators appear to have left the site of the former Walden egg processing works police are still keeping an open mind.

The body of a man, thought to be aged 30 - 40 years old, was found by a member of the public shortly after 1.30pm on Thursday.

Several police units descended on the site and a team of seven officers were later seen searching a field near where the body was discovered.

“We are keeping an open mind and seeking to establish the facts of this sad incident.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who might have relevant information to contact us. “

“Additionally, I would like to hear from anyone with dash cam footage taken from the area over the last week or so to please get in touch.”
