Police are continuing to investigate the discovery of a dead body at farm buildings in Wiltshire.

Emergency services swarmed the site at Ashton Common, near Trowbridge, at around 1.30pm on Thursday, March 7, after a member of the public found the body.

Police have confirmed a man, believed to be aged between 30 and 40, has died.

On Saturday, March 9, police units remained stationed at the scene around 48 hours after their enquiries were launched.

On Friday, the force confirmed officers were likely to remain in the area over the weekend while forensic and specialist search teams continue to investigate.

Detective Inspector Eirin Martin said: “We are working hard to establish the identity of this person and urgently contact his next of kin.

“An investigation is also underway to establish the circumstances of his death and a post-mortem examination will be carried out in due course to provide more clarity about how he died.

“We are keeping an open mind and seeking to establish the facts of this sad incident.

“I would like to appeal to anyone who might have relevant information to contact us.

“Additionally, I would like to hear from anyone with dash cam footage taken from the area over the last week or so.”
