A Wiltshire mother found dead in her home intended to take her own life, a coroner has concluded.

Paula Dickinson was found dead in the living room of her Devizes home, on April 5 last year.

Emergency services were called to the scene after Paula’s daughter did not hear from her and became concerned for her welfare.

An inquest on Friday, January 19, heard that Paula had previously been diagnosed with emotionally unstable personality disorder and suffered from a history of low mood and anxiety.

A statement from her GP added that her mental health had deteriorated over several years, following the death of her baby son.

She had spent time in hospital after a suicide attempt around six months before her death.

Area Coroner Ian Singleton found that Paula had intended to take her own life and recorded a conclusion of suicide.

He said: “I am satisfied on the evidence available that Paula intended to take her own life and therefore it would be appropriate to record a conclusion of suicide.”
