The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Swindon and parts of Wiltshire as temperatures struggle to climb above zero.
The warning for ice has been issued for the first eight hours of Sunday, December 3 between midnight and 8am.
The warning was issued at 3pm on Saturday, December 2.
In the warning which covers a large area of the UK, it states that “areas of rain or sleet falling on frozen surfaces may lead to icy conditions."
The Met Office has laid out what members of the public can expect as a result of the current weather that the UK is experiencing:
-
Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
-
Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
It follows an amber warning for parts of the UK on Saturday as the cold snap continues.
Wiltshire residents can expect slightly warmer temperatures over the rest of the weekend, with 6C forecast for later on Sunday.
As temperatures rise rain is expected to hit. There is an 80 per cent chance of rain at 4am with light rain expected for much of the night.
