A town centre pub has been recognised for the quality of its toilets once again by the Loo of the Year Awards.
The Bridge House at Borough Parade in Chippenham was inspected by the annual awards and scooped a coveted “gold rating”.
Despite moving down one rating, staff at the pub were pleased their hard work had been recognised by the awards.
Manager Christopher Stevens, who has run The Bridge House for over five years, said: “We are delighted with the award.
“Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
The awards have been running since 1987 and see independent inspectors make unannounced visits to thousands of public washrooms throughout the UK and Ireland in the search for quality facilities.
They aim to highlight and improve the standards of “away from home” toilet provision and judge washrooms based on décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment, and overall management.
Bathrooms are graded from silver to diamond, while unacceptable toilets are not graded at all.
