A year long works scheme at a busy Wiltshire roundabout looks set to continue after the project was hit by delays.

Improvement works at The Pheasant Roundabout, on the A4 Bath Road in Chippenham, began around a year ago as part of the nearby Hunters Moon development.

An agreement struck with Wiltshire Council during the planning application process for the large housing scheme saw developers commit to carrying out off-site works, including at The Pheasant Roundabout.

But 12 months after fencing was put up on the pavement at the junction, the council is still waiting for a new schedule of works to be submitted after design alterations stalled the project.

“Whilst works in the vicinity of the roundabout commenced some twelve months ago, delays have been experienced due to the positioning of utility apparatus in the highway necessitating a redesign.

“While a solution to this issue is now in place, we are waiting on the developer to confirm a program of works.

“We are continuing to engage with the developer to expedite completion of the works.”
