New homes unlike anything an idyllic Wiltshire village has seen before are set to go on the market.

The look of nine new ‘ultra sustainable’ homes in Urchfont - ranging in price from £550,000 to £1.2 million - have been revealed by the Acorn Property Group.

The three and four-bedroom homes at Hazel Green will be surrounded by scenic countryside views.

Each house boasts open plan living spaces, German fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, stylist bathrooms and underfloor heating.

The main seller of these new homes however is the energy efficient features which are said to be ahead of the game.

The collection of houses will feature air source heat pumps, solar panels, smart heating controls and the provision for electric car charging.

The landscaping plan of the development has also been designed to improve biodiversity by using native species to provide habitats for local wildlife.

A lot of consideration has had to be put into these new homes to avoid spoiling the natural beauty of Urchfont, which was named winter of the 2021 CPRE Wiltshire Best Kept Village Competition.

The village is set on the edge of Pewsey Vale and is well known for its thriving local community and stunning scenary, as well as its famous annual Scarecrow Festival.

“We’re delighted to be building such an exclusive collection of homes in Urchfont,” said Robin Squire, regional managing director of Acorn’s Bristol office.

“This idyllic village is rich in history and surrounded by natural beauty and so like all our schemes, it was important that Hazel Green complemented its surroundings and reflected the style of other local buildings such as the differing barns, cottages and stables,” he added.

In addition to building nine new homes, the group have also planted 20 new trees in the area to try and approve their sustainable approach to construction.

“Urchfont is an ideal destination for a peaceful and relaxed lifestyle,” added Guy Straker, director at Strakers in Devizes, which is working alongside Acorn Property Group.

“We’re seeing strong interest for the homes at Hazel Green and we’re pleased to have already secured a number of reservations.”

The Hazel Green location is close to the community shop and local pub, and also nearby to many scenic walking and cycling routes, for those looking for a relaxed country lifestyle.
