Thunderstorms are set to hit Wiltshire this weekend after a yellow weather warning was issued by the Met Office.
A weather warning has been put in place for Saturday afternoon, with heavy showers and thunderstorms likely to cause some disruption to travel.
Thunderstorms are expected to strike Wiltshire between 2pm and 9pm on Saturday, September 9.
The weather warning has been issued for most of the midlands and some southern areas of the UK, but is not expected to reach any further south than Salisbury.
Temperatures will stay warm with a high of 29°, however the soaring heat is expected to slowly drop over the weekend after the thunderstorm washes over, reaching highs of 21° by Sunday.
Due to the adverse conditions, there is a good chance driving conditions will be affected by spray and sudden flooding, leading to longer journey times by car and bus.
Where lighting strikes occur, there is also a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services, as well as potential power cuts in some areas.
The Met Office has also warned of some potential damage to a few homes, buildings and structures due to possible lightning strikes and floods.
