Police have launched an appeal to find a man linked to a theft from a major supermarket.

At around 1.20pm on Thursday, August 24, a suspect reportedly tried to steal a large number of batteries from Lidl, on London Road in Devizes.

Officers have now identified a CCTV image of a man who they believe can help with their investigations into the incident.

The white male is pictured sporting dark hair and glasses, and is wearing a light-coloured top.

The man, or anyone who recognises him, has been urged to come forward.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We are appealing for help to identify the man in this image following reports of theft from a supermarket in Devizes.

“At around 1.20pm on Thursday someone tried to steal a large number of batteries from Lidl.

“We believe this person may be able to help with our enquiries.
