A well-known television star has been pictured filming on a Wiltshire High Street with a brand-new look.

Poldark actor Aidan Turner was spotted on the set of new Disney+ blockbuster Rivals, in Corsham, on Monday, July 10.

The 40-year-old could be seen sporting a bushy moustache which appears to have been grown for the 1980s themed drama, based on an iconic Jilly Cooper novel.

The eight-part blockbuster boasts an impressive cast featuring David Tennant, Emily Atack and Danny Dyer, who has also been spotted with a moustache in recent weeks.

Corsham’s High Street was transformed on Monday as film crews sought to take the town back to the 1980s.

This included the redecoration of several property’s exteriors.

Local businesses told the BBC they were “excited” about the possibilities for tourism that the series would bring to the area.

Corsham Toy Shop and Automatic Comics owner Matt Booker, who claims to have seen many big names in his store, said: “It does very well for the town.

"I've been retailing here for 29 years and anything like this brings in a few people to have a look around the town."

Corsham Town Council added that they are “looking forward to seeing Corsham on screen again.”

The new series will explore the rivalry between two men involved in independent television during 1986.
