Floral tributes have been left in a Wiltshire park after a man’s body was recovered from a river.
The body of a man in his 40s was found in the River Avon, at Monkton Park in Chippenham, on Monday, June 19.
The tragic discovery was made after police were called to the popular park that morning, following a concern for welfare.
Several bouquets of flowers have now been placed together at the side of the river in tribute.
Wiltshire Police, who were assisted by fire crews for around an hour during the incident, are not treating the death as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Police were called to Monkton Park on Monday, June 19, shortly before 10am following concerns for the welfare of a man in his 40s.
“Sadly, a body was located in the river a short time later. We do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
“A file will be prepared on behalf of HM Coroner for Wiltshire.”
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service spokesperson added: “Firefighters were called to Monkton Park, Chippenham, to assist Wiltshire Police. Crews were on scene from 2.15pm until 3.15pm.”
