A teenage moped rider believed to be “involved in the supply of drugs” has been arrested for allegedly possessing cannabis.
The 17-year-old was stopped on London Road, in Calne, on June 15 after police received intelligence they were involved in the supply of drugs in the town and riding a vehicle without an MOT.
Officers arrested the teenager on suspicion of being unfit to drive or ride a motor vehicle through drink or drugs after they reportedly provided a positive roadside drugs swipe.
They were also arrested on suspicion of being found in possession of a quantity of cannabis.
After being taken into custody the rider was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Calne PCSO Mark Cook said: “I would like to pass on our thanks to the members of the community who contacted us regarding the activity of this person.
“We will always look to take positive action where possible with any information given to us.”
