A Wiltshire escape rooms and axe throwing venue has been taken over by new owners just seven months after opening.

Enigma Rooms opened on New Road in Chippenham under franchise owners John and Emma Tanner back in November, 2022.

The business initially offered axe throwing before also completing the construction of an escape room.

But just over half a year later, on Wednesday, June 14, Mr and Mrs Tanner announced they had sold the leisure facility.

They said: “We have accepted an offer for Enigma Rooms Chippenham and this is our final day here.

“We are very proud to have built this amazing leisure facility from an empty unit to bring a much-needed boost to the town.

“We wish the new owners every success and I hope you will support them with the same passion.”

The venue will be honouring all bookings made prior to the announcement and was not required to close during the handover, with the new owners opening for the first time the next day.

The branch will remain a part of the Enigma chain and continue to offer the same activities, according to Mr Tanner.

Booking pages for the business closed for 48 hours, from June 15, while the transition is completed.

Mr and Mrs Tanner added they plan to open new ventures in Chippenham.
